Voter registration deadline is nearing for the Presidential Preference Primary

Sanford, FL (January 27, 2020) – Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Chris Anderson reminded county residents who wish to vote in the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary on March 17, 2020, to register to vote or change their party affiliation by February 18, 2020.

Florida is a closed-primary state. To select a party’s nominee, voters need to have been a registered member of that political party at least 29 days prior to a primary election. Anderson also confirmed the city of Casselberry has placed a charter amendment question on the ballot, which is open to all voters who reside within city limits regardless of party affiliation.

Early Voting for the Presidential Preference Primary will take place from Saturday, March 7th through Saturday, March 14th between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. On Election Day, Tuesday March 17th, the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
